Healthy Church Cohort Breakfast
w/ Dr. Desmond Barrett
We want to invite you and your leadership team to the Healthy Church Cohort breakfast on Friday, May 16th at 10am (breakfast served starting at from 9:30 a.m.) at Lakeland Holiness Campground, before District Advance.
We have room for about 150 people at the breakfast and 8 churches in the cohort.
Dr. Desmond Barrett, pastor of Winter Haven First, will be speaking on revitalizing the local church. The breakfast is also a kickoff for the cohort which is designed to provide pastors and leaders a collaborative training experience that helps them in their revitalization efforts. Over the past three years, 36 churches have been through the Cohort & those churches baptized 132 people last year, by comparison, the same churches baptized 67 people in 2019.
This year’s cohort focus is on:
renewing vision
becoming a church for the community
raising resources to fuel that evangelistic vision.
All costs, other than travel, are covered through the
Healthy Church Initiative sponsored by the Florida District.
24% of the churches in the Florida District have gone through this Cohort. The churches that participated in the HCI Cohort have:
• Baptized 92 more people in the past two years than they had in the prior two years (an increase of 159%)
• Have grown by 663 in total worship (an increase of 30%).
• Best of all, several of these pastors have communicated that the HCI Cohort experience has revitalized and refocused their passion for ministry
